Batch Record Modification

Bibliographic and authority records can be modified in batches in Koha.

The Batch Record Modification tool can be found in the Cataloging module. This tool can be used to modify either bibliographic records or authority records, and requires preparing MARC Modification Templates before being able to modify the records. Once the templates are ready, the next step is to gather the records that need to be modified. The records can be added to a list or a report can be used to find the bibliographic record numbers or authority IDs.

To edit a batch of records, upload a file containing biblionumbers or authority IDs, select a list, or enter the biblionumbers or authority IDs into a box, one per line. Next select the MARC modification template you want to apply in the drop down box and click on the Continue button.

The next screen will confirm the records to be modified and the MARC modification template that will be used. Click on Modify selected records. The job will be processed. If a large group of records is being modified, the job may take a few minutes. Click on View detail of the enqueued job to see the job status. The job details page provides the option to add the modified records to a list, links to view individual records, or the ability to do a new batch record modification.
