Installing the Aspen Web App (Aspen Mobile)


Before installing, please see this article detailing how to configure Aspen Mobile from your Aspen Discovery interface.

Browsers

The Aspen Progressive Web App, or Aspen Mobile, will work best on the following browsers and operating systems. Using other browsers may impact Aspen Mobile's functionality. From your library's Aspen URL:

Android OS - Chrome

Android users may receive an 'Install as an App' prompt after engaging with the site for a period of time; in our testing, this is not a consistent behavior, nor is it available on iOS at all.

  • Click on the vertical ellipsis menu icon [⋮]

  • Choose Install and create shortcut or Add to Home screen

iOS - Safari

Info

For iOS 16 and earlier, Safari is the only browser that can install PWAs. For newer versions of iOS, other browsers may be supported.

  • From the Share Panel, choose Add to Home Screen

  • Click ‘Add’ in the upper right corner

Enabling Push Notifications

To enable push notifications, logged-in users should tap My Account > Notification Preferences and then set "Allow Notifications" to ON.
