Novelist Integration with Koha

NoveList Select is a great way to recommend "read a-likes" to your patrons. It is an easy integration for a library to set this feature up in Koha for both the OPAC and staff interface.

Integrating NoveList Select into Koha

NoveList Select can be integrated into the staff interface and the OPAC with a few key details from your NoveList Select account.

The library will need to contact NoveList Select to obtain information which will be entered into the following system preferences:

NovelistSelectProfile - this is for the OPAC view

NovelistSelectStaffProfile - this is for the staff interface

NovelistSelectPassword - the password for both of the user profiles above needs to be the same

Additional System Preferences for NoveList Select

There are additional system preferences to enable this feature, as well as to tell Koha where NoveList should appear on both the OPAC and staff interface:

NovelistSelectEnabled - set this to 'Add' to turn on NoveList for the OPAC, once the passwords and profiles have been entered

NovelistSelectStaffEnabled - set this to 'Add' to turn on NoveList for the staff interface, once the passwords and profiles have been entered

NovelistSelectStaffView - select where to display NoveList in the staff interface: in a separate tab, above the holdings table, or below the holdings table

NovelistSelectView - select where to display NoveList on the OPAC: in an OPAC tab, under the Save Record dropdown, above the holdings table, or below the holdings table

Any NoveList Select customer can email novelistselectsupport@ebsco.com to request credentials for their staff interface, OPAC, or both.
